  2. Product Spotlight - Fiber Media Converters

    Fiber Media Converter Connectzone

Product Spotlight - Fiber Media Converters

Fiber media converters are simple networking devices that make it possible to connect two dissimilar media types such as twisted pair with fiber optic cabling. They were introduced to the industry nearly two decades ago, and are important in interconnecting fiber optic cabling-based systems with existing copper-based, structured cabling systems. They are also used in MAN access and data transport services to enterprise customers. The 10/100/100M Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter series is designed to meet the massive needs for network deployment and able to extend a copper based Fast network via fiber cable to a maximum distance up to 100KM. Our 10/100/100M Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter is fully compliant with IEEE802.3, Ieee802.3U, 10/100/1000Base-TX, 1000Base-FX, standards. Check out our wide selection of Fiber Media Converters here. Features:

  3. Does High Back Reflection Influence Bandwidth in 10 Gig Systems?

Does High Back Reflection Influence Bandwidth in 10 Gig Systems?

Connectzone.com Does high backreflection affect the bandwidth carrying capability of OM3 and OM4 fibers, particularly in regard to quick-term mechanical connections? This is a question that customers have been asking us at Connectzone more and more lately and they are not alone in searching for answers. In today’s market there are many termination choices, with quick-term solutions becoming ever more attractive and prevalent due to their ease of use and relatively short training curve. The debate tends to heat up when mechanical quick-term connectors are discussed. Traditionally, quick-term connectors

  4. What is an Infiniband Cable?

Photobucket InfiniBand is a type of communications link for data flow between processors and I/O devices that offers throughput of up to 2.5 gigabytes per second and support for up to 64,000 addressable devices. Because it is also scalable and supports quality of service (QoS) and failover, InfiniBand is often used as a server connect in high-performance computing (HPC) environments. The internal data flow system in most PCs and server systems is inflexible and relatively slow. As the amount of data coming into and flowing between components in the computer increases, the existing bus system becomes a bottleneck. Instead of sending data in parallel (typically 32 bits at a time, but in some computers 64 bits) across the backplane

    Infiniband Frequent Questions - Q & A

Q: Is InfiniBand designed strictly as an I/O fabric? A: No, InfiniBand offers much more. At the lowest layer, InfiniBand provides a high performance, low latency, reliable switch

  5. What is 10G Fiber

What is 10G Optical Fiber? The 10 gigabit Ethernet (10GE or 10GbE or 10 GigE) standard was first published in 2002 as IEEE Std 802.3ae-2002. It defines a version of Ethernet with a nominal data rate of 10 Gbit/s, ten times as fast as gigabit Ethernet. 10 gigabit Ethernet defines only full duplex links which can be connected by switches. Half duplex operation and CSMA/CD (carrier sense multiple access with collision detection) do not exist in 10GbE. The 10 gigabit Ethernet standard encompasses a number of different physical layer (PHY) standards. It remains to be seen which of these PHYs will gain widespread commercial acceptance. However a networking device may support different PHY types by means of pluggable PHY modules and SFP+ is a popular module interface. At the time that the 10 gigabit Ethernet standard was developed, there was much interest in 10GbE as a WAN transport and this led to the introduction of the concept of the WAN PHY for 10GbE. This operates at a slightly
