CAB-STK-E-3M FlexStack Plus cables

The
Cab-stk-e-3m &
Cab-stk-e-1m Stackwise Plus cable are used in connecting Cisco switch modules; 3100G, 3110X, CBS3120X as well as the 3012 using the Cisco X2 transceiver modules and the
Cisco TwinGig Converter Module.
These cables are also used for connecting the IBM BladeCenter & IBM BC-H blades.
The StackWise Plus cable is capable of data speeds up to 10 Gigabit/ second. That is plenty of headroom for these types of equipment.

The
CAB-STK-E-3M also helps prevent outages in case of a switch failure. The switches used are in a Daisy-chain or “Stack” configuration and are connected with these special stack interconnection cables. These cables generate a bidirectional closed loop path. Within this loop, packets are apportioned between logical counter rotating paths so that if a switch or cable failure is detected, traffic is wrapped back around across the remaining path. This allows the stack to continue to function, without partitioning, if a switch were to go offline

Before
connecting the switches in a stack, keep in mind these switch stack guidelines:
- Connect only Catalyst 2960-S switches in a switch stack. You cannot stack the Catalyst 2960-S switches with Catalyst 3750-E switches, 3750 switches, or 2975 switches.
- Install the FlexStack module and the FlexStack cable for stacking capability
- Length of FlexStack cable. Depending on your configurations, you might require different sized cables.
Thankfully,
FlexStack, or
Stackwise Plus cables come in various sizes:
CAB-STK-E-0.5M= (0.5-meter cable)
CAB-STK-E-1M= (1-meter cable)
